You can’t cram much more into 14 incredible broadcast years than Tony Dibbin has. Acclaimed by his industry peers, Dibbzy has what it takes to deliver results and never fails to entertain.
A demanding workload keeps Tony busy, as well as working for the UK's leading provider of commercial radio as Breakfast Host & Programme Controller at Chiltern Radio Bedford & presenter at national station Gold. Tony also holds down a weekly Saturday night residency at Harvey's in Bedford. 2003 - 2007 Tony's popular Saturday night party become infamous and ran continuously for a four year stint at the giant Baa Bars Nightclub in Canterbury.
On top of all that Tony performs countless voiceovers for radio & television commercials, comperes major public events for world-wide brands such as Coca-Cola, Yates and Cancer Research UK (Tony is now confirmed as host of The City of London, Blackheath Common and Regents Park Race for life events 2008).
From concerts, firework displays to Christmas light switch on's, company awards nights to school roadshows Tony is out and about all over the UK. Last year Tony ventured into unknown territory by supplying the voice for a new animated feature and performed a Simon Cowell comedy routine for a 1500 strong audience in Windsor.
Christmas 2005 Tony returned to the theatre to star as the hilarious "PC Pongo" in Aladdin at Chatham’s Central Theatre alongside ITV's Jeff Brazier and comedy legend Melvyn Hayes (For Paul Hendy's Evolution Productions).
Over the years Tony has been incredibly privileged to have worked for some the UK’s biggest commercial radio stations.
Long Wave Radio Atlantic 252 took him to a national audience in the late 90’s.
Since then Tony has gone on to front programmes for Chiltern Radio, The Wave, Beacon Radio, Fusion Radio, Silk FM, Kmfm and in 2006 Tony returned to national radio with regular appearances on Capital Gold where he can still be heard today under it's new brand identity Gold.
In September 2006 Tony successfully launched 107.7 Brunel FM in Swindon for The Local Radio Company PLC working as the stations Programme Controller & breakfast presenter.
In a career lasting well over decade Tony has been accredited with a few success stories and radio firsts. When working as Programme Controller for Fusion Radio, Tony successfully led the station's license re-application process securing a further eight years on the ofcom broadcast license paving the way for the hugely popular Oxford 107.9fm that dominates the cities airwaves today. Tony went on to work on license applications for Virgn Radio and Lazer Broadcasting following the success of the Oxford license award.
In 2002 Tony helped to change the sound of Sunday afternoon radio by pioneering a 3rd national chart show “The Most Wanted”. The following year Tony was awarded “Radio Presenter of the year” at the Kent Media awards.
2005 brought together Dave Lee MBE & Tony for a special live 24 hour radio marathon -
"24 hours of laughter" the broadcast conceived by Tony eventually went on to raise over £15,000 in aid of Dave's children's charity - Dave Lee's Happy Holidays
Tony is proud to maintain his support for Dave and the charity by appearing at the annual variety show at Canterbury's Marlowe Theatre and other fund-raising events when his busy schedule allows.
More recently Tony's original concept for the radio give-away "Destination Unknown" was recognised at the national Kudos Awards - Winning the Best Original Sponsorship & Promotions Award. The concept has now been adopted by several market leading commercial stations acorss the UK.
In October 2007 Tony performed his stand-up routine alongside Ray Lewis and the original Drifters at Carmarthen's Lyric Theatre to a sell out crowd.
This Autumn, Tony is going back on the road taking the comedy, family entertainment show "Battle of the Sexes" to audiences across the UK - The show has been signed up by several London agents including Stars@Play and The Show Business Company.
February 29th 2008 yet another of Tony's original concepts finally came to fruition.
"Married in Minutes" saw three couples compete for the chance to marry in just 60 minutes on live radio! The event was a radio first and went on to make the ITV1 evening news.
March 2008 Tony launched the Welsh Chart Show.
A joint production between Tony's own production company and Town and Country Broadcasting who operate several commercial radio stations across South Wales.
The two hour show airs on the Welsh network every Saturday and see's Tony returning to his broadcasting roots of South Wales.
July 2008 Tony signs a deal which see's him oversee the programming output for Chiltern Radio Bedford together with present the daily breakfast show.
This new opportunity fully allows Tony to shape the sound of the station and show once again he has what it takes to succeed at breakfast radio.
